A few spots in town

Last Saturday was an amazing day, great weather, so I and my friend decided to surf around central London all day and night, basically we had nothing else to do that weekend. While in Covent Garden we found a few great spots for sneaker maniacs (I will put the marker on GoogleMaps), they sell stuff from Obey, Stussy, Gourmet, Adidas Originals, Supra, Nike, as well as some silkscreen printed t-shirts – nice stuff.

We made a little trip from Covent Garden to Southbank, city was packed, kids on this ridiculous 3x100m fake beach and people around downing pints of beer, but the mood was great, everyone relaxed, someone smoking weed in skatepark, even police didn’t give a damn about that. I took a few spontaneous photos of people building castles on the beach. By the way, we found this place for a young artists and designers, it’s like some sort of market (I’ll mark it on GoogleMaps).

So we were walking around and thinking what we could do that night, so I just thought we gonna go to Bricklane 1001 club, my friend has never been there and that would be an awesome place to socialise and get a few Long Islanders, also they play music which suits everyone’s taste. So, we came back to his place in East London, last time I was in East side was probably on New Year’s, anyway, there were Lithuanians all over the place, a bit strange feeling. Party was going in my friend’s house, girls dancing and guys getting wasted, so we kinda knew that we should come back later from central to the party to check what’s up, maybe get some company for a night. So, we made it to Bricklane after 30 minutes of wondering around the area we found 1001, got inside, ordered some beers and Long Islanders.

By the way, security took my marker pens and Promarkers, they said I will be tagging all over the place, well whatever. 1001 was quite empty, comparing with the last time when I was there. What I like about the place is that they have this bookcase in front room on the first floor filled with magazines, books and various flyers. My eyes caught a few flyers I like to share with you, quite a nice layout and simple, understandable graphics, clearly displayed information – an example for graphic designers.

My mate liked the place, he said it’s his type of spot he likes to hang out, also it’s free entrance, but I would suggest to behave yourself there, as on New Year’s we’ve got kicked out cause they thought we were on drugs, well come on, girls dancing on the tables and we downing cocktails like juice, all the place was starring at us! After a couple of drinks, we’ve got a call that party in my mate’s house was getting pace, so we got back to East London. Unfortunately, by the time we got back, there were only 3 girls left and around 10 guys completely smashed, standing in the circle in the middle of the room, moving around, barely standing, I figured that they were trying to dance. At least, they were friendly; we downed two packs of beer and gave a call to one friend who was with a car around central. He picked us up, and we were driving around London all night, we made a trip to somewhere 20 miles away from south London, dropped a girl to her house, smoked a joint of weed mixed with hashish, burned my throat, but gave me a massive appetite and a need to film everything! I basically filmed with my phone the entire trip on highway and central London, stupid… But it was fun, that morning I slept about 4 hours, but felt completely fine next morning. Hopefully, next weekend is gonna be better!
